Kerner's images spring from some inner remoteness and act in the immediate moment. Here reality is seen in all it's mystery and everyday vision is streaked with dream images . . . symbols and allusions to magic that can at once attract and trouble us.

 

All great artists invent a universe, and a new vision of the relationship between man and the world. That is why they need to hear the murmur that emanates from life . . . the voice that Kerner hears and has translated into signs and symbols all these years.
